As of January 1st 2009, Google will track the percentage of time spent on 'x' pages by a searcher where 'x' is the number of documents they click from the Google search results. This also means Google is evaluating bookmarking, social voting, SearchWiki, Google Notebook and other data to understand which web pages matter to users and which don't, and of course Google intend to adjust their search results accordingly. This is a profound shift in the Google algorithm, long gone are the days when good links, decent site structure, and high keyword density were enough to achieve that coveted #1 first page listing.
